Bryce was born and raised in Jamestown, ND. After graduating from high school, he moved to Fargo, ND to complete his first undergraduate degree in Business Management. He graduated from NDSU in 2016. He and his wife, Anna, were married that summer. They then moved to Minneapolis where Bryce completed his second undergraduate degree in Mortuary Science at the U of M.

Bryce worked for West Funeral Home while attending NDSU. He also worked for funeral homes in the greater Minneapolis area while attending the U of M. After Bryce graduated from the U of M, he and Anna moved to Northfield where he worked with the Northfield Funeral Homes until July of 2018.

In August of 2018, Bryce started working at Korsmo Funeral Service in Moorhead, MN, as a licensed funeral director. Bryce and Anna left the Fargo-Moorhead community in October of 2019, with excitement in the opportunity to work with the Northfield Funeral Homes again.

Bryce has come to enjoy running since high school and has run in several races including a 30-mile race last summer. He also enjoys CrossFit type workouts, especially when he can do them with his friends. Bryce and Anna stay active in their local church and the community. They are both members of the Northfield Lion’s Club and Bryce is a member of the Northfield Rotary Club. Bryce and Anna welcomed the newest member of their family, Elsie, in August of 2022. She is a blessing and they are incredibly thankful for her. They enjoy exercising together, outdoor activities, road trips and spending time with their families.

Andy is a 1986 graduate of the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program. A native of western South Dakota, he moved to Minneapolis in 1982 to attend Golden Valley Lutheran College. He began his funeral service career in 1984 as a night attendant at a funeral home in Brooklyn Center, MN. He has worked as a funeral director in Mountain Lake, Mankato, St. Paul and Princeton, MN. In 2001, Andy and his wife Suzanne moved to Northfield with their three children, Leigh, Rachel and Dan. They are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoy time with their families and their dog Knightly. Andy is active in many Northfield community organizations and Suzanne is an active member of PEO Chapter FR.

Cole was raised on the Iron Range in Chisholm, MN, and is a 2017 graduate from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. It was there he met his wife, Laine, on their orientation day. Cole has ventured throughout numerous areas of funeral service to learn and to grow under many amazing teachers and colleagues in the communities of Hudson, WI, St. Cloud, MN, and Saint Charles, MN

Cole was inspired by the care and dedication to families displayed by his cousin, Matt, of Bertas Funeral Home in Chaska, MN. He became determined to help others through grief and loss following the death of his grandfather, Bill, and grandmother, Karen, during his senior year of high school.

Outside of the funeral home, Cole can be found playing basketball in any gym he can find as well as traveling adventures with Laine.

Paula has been a resident of Northfield since 2017. She and her husband, Doug, have 2 grown children and 3 grandsons. She enjoys cooking, birdwatching, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling.

Ray Ozmun Funeral Assistant

Ray is a near lifelong Northfield resident. He is a Korean War veteran and has served with the American Legion Honor Guard, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and the Northfield Veterans Memorial Park Committee. He has been District and State Chairman for Sons of the American Legion since 1979 and served for 38 years on the Rural Fire Board for Waterford Township. He can be found most mornings exercising at the Northfield Senior Center. Ray and his wife Mary are members of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Charlene Klemenhagen Funeral Assistant

Charlene retired from the Rosemount/Apple Valley/Eagan School District after 38 years of service, and joined the funeral home staff shortly thereafter. She is a lifelong Northfielder, and has served on the Waterford Township and Greenvale Cemetery boards for many years. Her part-time hobbies include farming and growing garlic.

Jerry is a native of Northfield. He graduated from Randolph High School, where he met his wife Barb. He served on the Randolph Fire Department for 18 years. After living in Lakeville/Apple Valley for several years, they moved back to the Northfield area. When he's not busy helping others, he loves to golf, relax at their camper, and spend time with their three granchildren.

Sue Hollinger Funeral Assistant

Sue is a native of Northfield and graduated from Northfield High School followed by a 23-year career at St. Olaf College.  She is married to Joe and are active farmers in rural Dundas.  They have one grown son and are members and volunteers at the Church of St. Dominic. Sue is also on the Board of Directors at Calvary Cemetery.  She enjoys gardening, baking, and bird watching.

Nancy Ludescher Funeral Assistant

Nancy and her family moved to Northfield in 1989.  She and her husband have 4 adult children and 3 grandsons.  Nancy works part-time at the Church of St. Dominic as a Parish Nurse, and is active in the Northfield community.  She enjoys gardening, walking, kayaking, and many outdoor activities.

Duane Benson (1939-2021) Funeral Director – Emeritus

Duane was a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s School of Mortuary Science. He purchased the Zanmiller Funeral Home in 1966 and the Anderson Funeral Home in 1971, consolidating locations at 201 East Fourth Street. He retired in 2001, but continued to serve regularly at funerals. Duane was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, a former member of the Jaycees and is a 50-year member of Rotary. He was an avid golfer, longtime member of the Northfield Golf Club, and a regular at morning coffee at the Hideaway. He and his wife, Marie, enjoyed time with family, especially their grandchildren.

Jim Bierman (1950-2022) Funeral Director – Emeritus

Jim was a Northfield native; his family settled in the area in the 1800s. He assumed the funeral home business from his grandfather, father and uncle. Jim was well respected in the Northfield area, and he retired (again) in 2017 after 40+ years of service to the community.
