Ginny Graff, age 85 of Northfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday morning, October 22, 2016, at Reflections on the Three Links Campus.

Virginia Marie Graff was born July 11, 1931, in Northfield, Minnesota, to Theodore and Marie (Heim) Tille. She was raised in Northfield, attended Rosary School, and graduated from Northfield High School in 1950. During and after high school, Ginny worked at the record shop, flower shop and radio station in Northfield. During that time she met Donald J. Graff when he stopped in to shop. Ginny worked in St. Paul as a secretary at Engineering Research, a division of Remington Rand. On May 19, 1953, Ginny and Don were married at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. After marriage Ginny continued to commute to St. Paul until the birth of their first child. She then stayed home to raise children and worked together with Don on the farm. During Don’s service in the Korean Occupation, Ginny and their children joined him in Missouri until he was shipped out, rejoining him in Utah as he finished his service at the Dugway Proving Grounds. In 1956, they returned to Northfield and farm life. In 1990, their 1800’s home was hit by lightening and burned. They rebuilt, and although selling the farm to their son Ed in 2010, they remained on the farm.

Ginny was a life long member active of the Church of St. Dominic. She was involved with 4H and the Farm Bureau, sewed pajamas for the Community Action Center, served in the KC Auxiliary, and sang in the choir at St. Dominic’s for over 30 years. She enjoyed quilting, and bowling with Don. The family built a cabin on Birch Lake in Hackensack and Don & Ginny spent 12 winters in South Padre Island, Texas.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Donald; their children: Kitty Caton (Kenny Stuckmayer), Elizabeth (Mike) Crombie, Phyllis (Jeff) Johnson, Denise (Greg) Reuvers, Edward, Julie (Craig) Meincke, Andy (Cindy), all of Northfield; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters Dorothy (Andy) Devine of Broomsfield, Colorado, Gerry (Ray) Johnson of Northfield; many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Theodore in infancy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Northfield. Pallbearers will be Ed Graff, Andy Graff, Kenny Stuckmayer, Mike Crombie, Jeff Johnson, Greg Reuvers and Craig Meincke. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Church of St. Dominic from 3-7PM on Monday, October 24, 2016. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Memorials are preferred to St. Dominic School or the Church of St. Dominic.

    Don, Ed,

I am sorry for your loss, this comes far to late but nonetheless heartfelt. I have many memories with my father, Dale Hundt visiting your parents and helping on the farm. I always remember your mom smiling and happy, she always made me smile when I was at there place. No words I say will ever express the joy I had when I was around your parents place. I hope and pray that you’re all well and that your moms memory is cherished. I know that she is at peace and she will always be in my thoughts, god bless her and your family.
