After marriage they completed their studies and Joyce graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. They moved for a short time to Mankato before returning to Minneapolis. In 1952, they moved to Roseville where they lived until moving to Willmar in 1970. While living in Willmar, Joyce pursued her interest in crafts by working at a craft store and taking crafting classes. They moved to Forest Lake in 1986 and to Northfield in 1987.
