My love and prayers for the entire Henke and Kidd family.
I just opened the Rochester Post Bulletin and was shocked at this news.
However, Mark gave it a good go; a faithfilled fight.
Obviously God felt Mark had done his duty on earth and called him home.
A good and faithful Soldier of God.
God Bless you all and God Bless Mark’s soul.

I was deeply shocked when my sister called to let me know of Mark’s passing. He was always so much fun to be around when the Kidd family got together. He never did master that unicycle at our house, but like everything he did in life, he kept trying to master it. My thoughts are with all of his family and friends.

  20. Henke family,
My heart goes out to all of you for your loss of Mark. I first met Mark as a little girl in Stewartville when he came over to our house for Prom with my sister. He was polite and sweet to me and my little sister. I fast forwarded over 30 years and met Mark again when I was interviewing for a job as a Pediatrician for Northfield Hospital. He was a real gentleman with the same sense of humor and a real love for his job. He told me in the interview how he had worked for Mayo for a number of years and now was working for Northfield hospital and how much he loved working in a small town hospital. He was a true advocate of the employees of Northfield hospital and always had our interests in mind.
He talked fondly of his family and couldn’t wait to spend more time with them. He will be greatly missed. Dr. Kerry Ace

My Dear Joyce, it was just yesterday that my “kid” went to RIA, much to her dismay. She met this wonderful man, fell in LOVE and the rest is history. I can’t imagine your sorrow, but please know my love and prayers.
And Tom played ball with Paul so long ago. We shared many evenings at the ballfield, with Barb, cheering you guys on. Tom knows how difficult it is to loose a sibling so he too sends his love and prayers.
And Dear Evelyn, it was so much fun to see you doing volunteer work at Mayo. PLEASE know our love and prayers too!

I am sorry for your lost. Mark was my first boss at Winneshiek Medical Center. He was very knowledgeable and gave great advice. When I was having a bad day. Mark would send me small inspiring quotes of encouragement. He really was my coach. My deepest synpathy to all of you.

  33. Rande Loucks

I lost touch with Mark as with most of my classmates of 1977. I remember Mark being the kind of guy that everyone liked. He stayed out of trouble and seemed to enjoy life. He also appears to have accomplished many acheivements. May God be close to your hearts.

  34. Dan D'Aigle

    Dear Henke family,

I just recently heard of Mark’s passing and was terribly shocked. I started freshman year at St. Olaf with Mark on the same side of 7th floor Mohn and was lucky enough to remain friends with him for the entire 4 years. He was one of the sharpest witted men I’ve ever met. He could always come up with the quickest replies. Although I only talked to him a couple times after we graduated in 1981,the last time we spoke he had just moved back to Northfield and it was like no time had passed at all. I hope it will help you to know how many lives Mark touched and the huge impact he had on so many people’s lives. Please accept my condolences on your loss and know that the world is a little colder place without him in our lives.

  35. Jill Mormann Groth

Dear Henke Family, My heart is so sad to know of Mark’s passing. I worked with him in Decorah and I remember you coming to my wedding in Dyersville. He was such a wonderful boss and was full of integrity and encouragement. He had an optimistic approach and treated everyone respectfully. His advice I can still refer to during tough times and I am so sorry for your sadness. I am sending prayers your way and will for a long time. I was blessed to know him and you. God bless you all.
