My deepest sympathy to all of you. I know how hard this moment in life is. Remember all the beautiful and happy times you have had together these many years. Remember her smiles, her gentle touch and her love for her family. When life is hard, remember her holding you in her arms.

    She was home –

This was one of my husband’s favorite poems –

Today is a good day to die
Every living thing is in harmony with me
Every voice sings a chorus within me
All beauty has come to rest in my eyes
All bad thoughts have departed from me
Today is a very good day to die
My land is peaceful around me
My fields have been turned for the last time
My house is filled with laughter
    My children have come home
Yes, today is a very good day to die.

She was a remarkable woman, mother, wife.
Celebrate all the good in her.

All my thoughts and love to you –

    Shelley

My deepest sympathy to all the family. I remember Vurlyn from our college days at St. Cloud State. We lived across the hall from each other in Mitchell Hall. We shared great times together. I still have the necklace she gave me when we celebrated Christmas with our fellow dormmates. She was a great friend.

The last time I saw Vurlyn was at her wedding to Tom. We corresponded for several Christmases, but lost touch after baby number 8. I can only imagine how busy she was.

I know you will miss her. Remember the good times and rejoice that she is now walking in the presence of Jesus.
