Ruth was born on the family farm in Northfield on August 12, 1929, the daughter of William and Martha (Sandvik) Ford. She was raised in Northfield and graduated from Northfield High School. At the age of 18, Ruth moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a secretary. She married Roland Stinski in 1949. Ruth loved bowling and bowled in three different leagues over the years. She occasionally went to Mystic Lake casino and also to Las Vegas. During her married life she and Roland traveled extensively throughout the United States and also vacationed in other parts of the world. She loved the beauty and serenity of Colorado. My mother was Corinne Margaret Sandvik Turner.
Her father Ole was Martha’s brother. They came with their other siblings through Ellis Island.
I am interested in any genealogical research done on the Sandviks.
