Ruth Klevgard, age 86 of Northfield, passed away Wednesday evening, September 11, 2019, at the Northfield Hospital Long Term Care Center with family by her side.

Ruth Ardell Klevgard was born August 17, 1933, in Bennett Valley, near Mondovi, Wisconsin, to Archie and Ella (Solfest) Klevgard.  She attended country school and following her education worked on the family farm.  At an early age she made her choice to serve God and in November 1955, began in the ministry to share her faith, serving in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa.  She continued in the work of the gospel until 2001, when she moved to Dundas to live with her sister, LaMay to help care for her brother-in-law. Ruth moved to Northfield in 2007 and resided at the Northfield Hospital Long Term Care Center for the last 20 months. Her family would like to thank them for their loving care toward Ruth, which reflected in her life as a picture of contentment just watching the birds feed outside her window. She always appreciated the many family and friends who faithfully called or visited her. It brought a sparkle in her eye and a smile to her face.

Ruth was reserved, kind, a gentle smile, and cared for others.  She took a sincere interest in her family and never missed sending her nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces a card on their birthdays. They will truly miss their special Auntie Ruth.

Survivors include her siblings, Elaine Norberg of Prairie Farm, WI, Duane (Antoinette) Klevgard of Richmond, VA, Jerome (Sharon) Klevgard of Mondovi, MaryJane Knudtson of Osseo, WI, and  Beverly (Vern) Noggle of Eau Claire, WI;   nieces, nephews, other relatives and the many friends who’s lives she touched.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister LaMay Norberg, her brother LaVerne Klevgard, and her brothers-in-law Adriel Norberg and James Knudtson.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Thursday, September 19, 2019, at the Northfield Ballroom, 1055 N. Highway 3, Northfield.  Visitation will begin at Noon and a reception will follow.  Interment will be in Northfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean Norberg, David Norberg, Doug Norberg, Randy Norberg, David Klevgard, Darin Klevgard and Danny Knudtson.  Honorary pallbearers are Dana Klevgard and Todd Klevgard.

Ruth was in our field in Wisconsin probably 1960-61? She woke one morning with mumps. Spent 3 weeks recovering in our home. Lavina Swenson was her co-worker. Pfft and La la to our little girls.

I sat right next to her at hector a few years back now. Quiet, and taking notes. She would say a few words about this or that but for the most part trying to get all out of the meetings. I saw her at several meetings and did not know she was in the work for the longest time. (my fault) Death is not sad when you have lived by faith as she has.

We want to extend our sincere sympathy to all of Ruth’s family.
She was in the Rochester field some of my first years in Rochester. She enjoyed coming to our house of girls and we enjoyed having her. She was an encouragement and a good example for us girls who had just left home. I always appreciated her quiet spirit.
    With sincere care,
    Jane and Charles Olufson
