Ronald Hagen, age 85 of Northfield, formerly of Faribault, passed away Thursday morning, December 6, 2018, at Three Links Care Center. Ronald Dean Hagen was born July 8, 1933, in Woodworth, North Dakota, to Carl A. and Verna (Loose) Hagen. Ronald Hagen, age 85 of Northfield, formerly of Faribault, passed away Thursday morning, December 6, 2018, at Three Links Care Center.

Ronald Dean Hagen was born July 8, 1933, in Woodworth, North Dakota, to Carl A. and Verna (Loose) Hagen. He was raised in Woodworth until the age of 10, Then moved with his family to Rice Lake, Wisconsin. At age 15, the family moved to Minneapolis and Ron graduated from Central High School in 1951. He attended St. Olaf College and received his bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics in 1955. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and after receiving his honorable discharge he returned to Minneapolis.

In 1958, Ron married Judith Veiulleaux. After marriage they made their home in Atlanta until moving to Northfield in 1963. Ron took over the administration of Dittman Travel and his successful management style turned the business into a national success. He retired in 1978, although he remained active in the travel industry as a consultant and expert witness.  In 1982, Ron married Marilyn Swelland. After marriage they lived in Minneapolis until moving to Faribault in 188. Marilyn passed away on January 18, 2013. Ron moved to Northfield in 2015 to be near his children.

Ron enjoyed animals, going back to North Dakota to hunt, and spending time at the cabin on French Lake. He was generous, intelligent and hard working. He will be missed.

Survivors include his children, Erik (Jane) of Northfield, Nina (Keith) Pumper of Northfield, Carl (Kim) of Faribault; 4 grandchildren, Nathan and Kara Hagen, Alex and Annie Pumper; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

A service of remembrance will be held at 6:00PM, on Wednesday evening, December 12, 2018, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 4PM.

Memorials are preferred to the human society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
