Mark Boudreau, age 57 of Northfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2018, at the Northfield Hospital. Mark Louis Boudreau was born January 26, 1961, in Northfield, Minnesota, to Louis and Mildred (Nelson) Boudreau. He was raised on the family farm in Waterford Township, Dakota County and was baptized and confirmed at the Church of St. Dominic. Mark Boudreau, age 57 of Northfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2018, at the Northfield Hospital.

Mark Louis Boudreau was born January 26, 1961, in Northfield, Minnesota, to Louis and Mildred (Nelson) Boudreau. He was raised on the family farm in Waterford Township, Dakota County and was baptized and confirmed at the Church of St. Dominic. He attended St. Dominic School and graduated from Northfield High School in 1979. During and following his education Mark worked with his father and brothers on the family farm. In February 1983, he began working at Malt-O-Meal as a machine operator, remaining with them for the next 35 years. Mark was also a partner with his brothers at Boudreau Farm – both crop and sod farming.

Mark was a lifelong member of the Church of St. Dominic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to the family cabin up North. Mark was easy going, loving, quiet, generous and delighted in all things family. He took great pride in his nieces and nephews and they will miss their “gentle teddy bear.”

Survivors include his sisters and brothers, Renee (David) Estrem of Nerstrand, Kevin (Joan), Rochelle (Donnley) Bultman, Brian, all of Northfield; 9 nieces and nephews, Marcia (Lee) Cronce, Lynnette (Nicholas) Erickson, Travis (Alyssa) Estrem, Audra (Jason) Shaleen, Sara Bultman (Tim Chlan), Christa Bultman, Lynsey Boudreau, Hannah Boudreau and Bruce Boudreau; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews, Braden, Anna, McKenzie, Quinn, Aaden, Collin, Isaac, Lexie, Lillie, Wyatt; his aunts, Deloris Boudreau of Northfield, Barbara (Daniel) Rising of Fargo, Jean Nelson of Kasson; cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Northfield, at a later date. Pallbearers will be Lee Cronce, Travis Estrem, Jason Shaleen, Tim Chlan, Nicholas Erickson and Bruce Boudreau. Visitation will be 3-7PM Sunday, March 18, 2018, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM on Monday at the church.

Memorials are preferred to Calvary Cemetery, Northfield or donor’s choice.

    To the Boudreau family. I’m sorry to hear about your unfortunate loss. It grieves me the think that’s such a middle-aged man as Mark died so early in life. Mark was a gentle mannered man that was well respected and will be missed by all.
