Lillian L. Allbee, age 100, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Northfield Retirement Community. Lillian Labelle Allbee was born on November 16, 1917, on the family farm near Loyalton, South Dakota, to George and Katherine (Schneider) Stern. She attended Liberty Country School and Loyalton High School. Lillian worked on the family farm until she was united in marriage to Fay Allbee in 1942. Lillian L. Allbee, age 100, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Northfield Retirement Community.

Lillian Labelle Allbee was born on November 16, 1917, on the family farm near Loyalton, South Dakota, to George and Katherine (Schneider) Stern. She attended Liberty Country School and Loyalton High School. Lillian worked on the family farm until she was united in marriage to Fay Allbee in 1942. The couple lived in Loyalton until moving to Aberdeen. In 1949, they moved to Aberdeen, and then to Pierre in 1956. In 1959, they moved to Crystal, Minnesota, where they later divorced. Lillian remained in Crystal and worked at Target for 20 years, retiring as Assistant Manager of the restaurant. In 1981, she moved to Waverly, Iowa, and to Northfield in 2010. Lillian was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed sewing, crafts, and ceramics. She loved laughing and dancing to Polka music.

Lillian is survived by her children: Sharen (James) Guderjohn of Faribault, MN and Dwight Allbee of Waverly, IA; four grandchildren: Peter (Kathleen) Foley II of Edina, MN, Kassi Rudomski of Madison, WI, Katia Allbee of Waverly, IA, and Eamon (Dawn) Allbee of Tinley Park, IL; eight great-grandchildren: Sean, Rachel, Ethan, Sam, Ian, Katie, Isabella, and Eli; and many other family members and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Fred, Edward, George, Steve, Phil, Daniel, Albert, and John; her sisters: Emma Loterbauer, Martha Walker, Louise Doerr, and Kate O’Brien.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Northfield Retirement Community with Pastor Kristine Braaten-Lee officiating. A reception will follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

    I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Lilian. She was my grandmother’s sister, Kate O’Brien. I recall an intelligent and genuine person. John Huntley
