Karleene Rae Adams 1934 – 2017 Dundas – Karleene Adams, age 83 passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Three Links Care Center.

Karleene Rae Robbie was born at home to Bill and Elaine (McKinnon) Robbie on January 15, 1934 in Dundas, Minnesota. She attended grade school in Dundas and High School in Northfield, MN. In 1949 she started working for the Arthur L. Roberts hotel chain which owned the Stuart Hotel. At that time the dining room was managed by the estimable Helen Miller. In the summer months she went to the Roberts Pine Beach Resort at Gull Lake to work. Later she worked at the Panatorium, the Hiway Café, The Well and the Northfield Liquor Store. In 1971 she and her husband bought the Corner Bar in Dundas, and in 1983 they opened Firehouse Liquor on Hwy 3, then bought the Corner Mart convenience store.

There are many great memories from all of these places thanks to their many great customers over the years. Karleene was a people person and loved working and interacting with the public.
In 1986 when she thought she was retired from business, she ran and won a seat on the Dundas City Council. She served in that capacity for 12 years. When her husband was ill and she didn’t run again, she continued to serve on the park board and took care of the city gardens until 2014.

In 2000 she became a member of the Dundas Baseball Board and served until 2017. She began serving as the treasurer in the fall of 2000. In 2002 she became the manager of the concession stand and served in these positions for several years.

Over the years her children lived in various states and countries and loved to visit them. She had an adventuresome spirit and loved traveling! She was thankful to her kids for spacing out her grandchildren so she had quality time with each one of them.

She is survived by daughters Mitzi (George) Gregg, Lisa Stevens, Jodi (Kevin) Lawson, Jeri Quamme, Holly (Larry) Vasbinder. Sons Mitchell Amundson, Sean Adams (Cicily Knott) and her husband of 55 years, Jerry Adams. Grandchildren Jessica (Pat) Ryan, Joseph Winter (Cassie), Dylan Amundson (Michelle), Aaron Gregg, Brian Gregg, Taylor Lawson, Bailey Lawson, Tara Quamme, Madison Vasbinder, Haley Vasbinder, Porter Adams, Montana Adams. Great-grandchildren Dominic Winter, Anna Winter, Allison Ryan, Jameson Ryan. Sisters Audrey (Chuck) Demann, Millie MacKay, Linda Lieske. Many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.

A celebration of Karleene’s life will be held at 10:30AM, Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Visitation will be 4-7PM Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Church of St. Dominic and will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service. Urn bearers are Bill Nelson, Pat Nelson, Denise Olson, Richard Tussing, VoAnn Eddy and Karen Grisim. We truly will miss Karleene. She was always fun to visit with. We will never forget her wonderful laugh. She was always so caring and compassionate. Will always remember her love for flowers. She was always so kind and giving to our family.
We are so happy she is no longer suffering and is in her heavenly body and will celebrate for an eternity with Our Lord and all her loved ones who have passed. Karleene, we thank you for the lifelong friendship.
