Jeanette Iverson, age 96 of Northfield, passed away Monday evening, January 20, 2020, at Reflections on the Three Links Campus. Jeanette Lucille Iverson was born April 28, 1923, at Clinton, Minnesota, to Edmund and Hulda (Swenson) Asplund. She was raised on the family farm. She graduated from Clinton High School and after one year at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, she spent three years at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, graduating with her RN in 1945. Jeanette Iverson, age 96 of Northfield, passed away Monday evening, January 20, 2020, at Reflections on the Three Links Campus.

Jeanette Lucille Iverson was born April 28, 1923, at Clinton, Minnesota, to Edmund and Hulda (Swenson) Asplund. She was raised on the family farm. She graduated from Clinton High School and after one year at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, she spent three years at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, graduating with her RN in 1945. In 1953, Jeanette married Joseph G. Iverson and they had three sons. In 1960, they moved to Northfield and Jeanette continued to work part time at Northfield Hospital, for the next 20 years. In addition to excelling as a wife and mother, she enjoyed entertaining and participating in church activities and staying healthy. Joe and Jeanette enjoyed great friends in Northfield and their Sarkis community in Mesa, Arizona.

Survivors include her sons and daughters in marriage: Jeffrey (Lorie Lockwood) of Eden Prairie, Jon (Susan Harper) of Bloomington, and James (Patricia Ramsey) of Rosemount; 7 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; other family members and friends. She was preceded in death last April by her husband of nearly 66 years, two grandsons Peter and Joseph, and her parents.

A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held on February 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Northfield, with a gathering of family and friends preceding the service and lunch following at 11:30. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials are preferred to St. Peters Lutheran Church Women’s Ministries.
