Herman Fratzke, age 84 of Northfield, passed away Saturday morning, October 13, 2018, at the care center of the Northfield Retirement Community. Herman Richard Fratzke was born April 5, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Herman F. and Dorothy (Lundberg) Fratzke. He attended Roosevelt High School and following his education began working at Toro Manufacturing. On July 10, 1954, Herman married Beverly Grilley at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Herman Fratzke, age 84 of Northfield, passed away Saturday morning, October 13, 2018, at the care center of the Northfield Retirement Community.

Herman Richard Fratzke was born April 5, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Herman F. and Dorothy (Lundberg) Fratzke. He attended Roosevelt High School and following his education began working at Toro Manufacturing. On July 10, 1954, Herman married Beverly Grilley at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. After marriage they made their home in Bloomington. Herman retired in 1990. Herman and Beverly moved to Northfield in 2005.

Herman was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, auto racing and doing counted cross stitch. He had a good sense of humor and was always ready with a “Holy Mackerel!”

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Beverly; 2 children, Richard of Orr, Tammy (Dick) Rischmiller of Faribault; 3 grandchildren, Nick (Megan) Fratzke of Brainerd, Jamie Rischmiller of Faribault, Mike Rischmiller of Inver Grove Heights; 5 great-grandchildren, Tailor, Paxton, Lennox, Percy and Allen; his sister, Bertha Barth of Minneapolis; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie and his parents.

Services will be 11:00AM, Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Northfield. Visitation will be one hour prior, a reception will follow.

Memorials are preferred to the Epilepsy Foundation.
