Dear Jane and all. I am so sorry Dave has left you. Dave was like a father and a brother to me while I was his hygienist for all those years. He showed me how to be a better hygienist, sailor, parent, friend, And he showed me how to have fun, to take risks. I will be forever grateful for him and all of you.

I had the opportunity to visit many times with Dave in regard to the Remes family history, the Remes Drug Store, the butternut chest I restored for his mother, the Remes Ponds, the Remes Hall/Saloon, the fact that the Remes family came from the same village in Bohemia as my wife’s Kubes ancestors (Bosilec), and living while attending school in New Prague. Dave was proud of his wife and family. He never forgot his ties to New Prague and his family roots. My wife Linda and I along with the New Prague Area Historical Society send our deepest sympathy at this difficult time to your family and his brother Mike. Sincerely, Dennis and Linda Dvorak

    Dear Jane and family:
We are so sorry for your loss. We never knew a kinder or more welcoming person than Dave; he never met a stranger. I enjoyed every day of the six years I worked with Dave on the MDA Star of the North Meeting. Even after he finished his term on the committee, Dave remained a stalwart supporter of the meeting and me. I have cherished his friendship and will never forget him. We are holding you all in our thoughts and prayers. With deepest sympathy, Dianne and John Blake

I truly loved Dr.Remes. I told him how he was my first heartbreak. I remember being in third grade and loved going to see him. I remember him telling me how pretty I was and how I was his favorite patient. One day I saw my neighbor Susie (who was the biggest tomboy) getting in the car with a dress on. I asked her where she was going and she said she was going to see Dr. Remes. She then stated she was his favorite patient and told her how pretty she was. My first heartbreak. Im so sorry for your loss. He was such a wonderful person. May he rest in peace. Janie Machacek

So sorry to hear of your loss–what a great guy and family. I remember that he always called me Davey at the dentist office (and Jane, he said I was his favorite patient). I saw him a few years ago at the golf club after not seeing him for 25 years and he still called me Davey. With sympathy. David Narum
