Dale Touchette, age 87 of Northfield, passed away with his family and friends by his side on Sunday afternoon, November 12, 2017, at Reflections Care Suites on the Three Links Campus.

Dale Francis Touchette was born March 20, 1930, in Belleville, Illinois, to David and Mary Belle (Cange) Touchette. He grew up in O’Fallon, Illinois, and graduated from O’Fallon Township High School in 1948. He attended Southeast Missouri State College for 2 years before entering the US Air Force. He served from 1951-1954 during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in England. Following his honorable discharge, Dale returned to Southeast State where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. On November 24, 1955, Dale married Ann Delores Ping in Belleville. In 1963, Dale accepted a job with Honeywell and within 6 years the family had moved to Duluth, MN, Crown Point, IN, and then to Northfield. Wanting to stay in Northfield, Dale left Honeywell and established Touchette Sales and Service in 1972, which he operated until retiring in 1997.

Dale was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Northfield American Legion. He enjoyed all sports, playing basketball in high school and college. He coached baseball and basketball in each town as the family moved, coaching many years at St Dominic Catholic School. Dale discovered his passion for golf while stationed in England and continued to enjoy golf throughout the years. He was one of the leaders in making hole in ones at the Northfield Golf Club, he made 6.

Survivors include his children Barbara Seacord of Plymouth, Kay (Matt) of Minneapolis, Neil (Gretchen) of Northfield; 4 grandchildren Beau Bye, Alison Seacord, Grace Touchette and Nick Touchette; his sister Betty Touchette of Fairview Heights, IL; his wonderful friend Arlene Carroll, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann in 2006, his son Eric in 2010, his brother Norman and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 2nd, at 10:30am at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Northfield. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Lunch/reception following Military Honors at the Northfield Golf Club, 12-3.

Memorials are preferred to go to the Northfield Golf Club to further the junior golf program.

    DALE WAS MY EUCHRE CARD PARTNER FOR THE PAST 25 YEARS. AS WE PLAYED FOR A “LITTLE MONEY ” , HE BECAME QUITE PROFICIENT AT THE GAME SINCE , AS MANY OF YOU KNOW , HE DIDN’T LIKE TO LOSE OR SPEND ANY MONEY. WE HAD MANY GOOD TIMES AND LAUGHS. GREAT MEMORIES REMAIN. THANKS , DALE!!
