Margaret Grabinger, age 79 of Northfield, passed away Thursday morning, January 19, 2017, at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, Minnesota, where she had been residing. She would have turned 80 in nine days.

Margaret Ada Lehn Grabinger was born January 28, 1937, at home on the Lehn farm outside of St. Michael, Minnesota, to Elmer and Eveline (Kersting) Lehn. She was the oldest of 12 children, born at 7 months and weighed only 3 ½ pounds. The doctor thought she would not live through the night. Marge graduated from St. Michael High School in 1955 and attended school in Mankato for one year.

On April 4, 1959, Margaret married Wallace Grabinger at St. Michael Catholic Church. They moved to Rush City in 1962. In 1967, they bought a farm and moved to Webster Township, rural Northfield. Marge worked at Ryt-Way Packaging in Northfield for 2 school years and then worked at Sheldahl for 21 years, retiring in 1998. Marge was a longtime member of Church of the Annunciation and enjoyed quilting, reading, and singing in the church choir.

Survivors include her sons Chris of Dundas, Andrew (Linda) of Kenyon, Norman (Laura) of rural Faribault; her grandsons Jesse Odenthal (Jana) of Byron, James Grabinger (Brianna) of Dundas, Shawn Grabinger of Farmington, Steve Grabinger of Faribault; great-grandchildren (twins) Maxwell and Emma Odenthal, Emilia Grabinger; her siblings Rosalie Anselment, Hank (Nancy) Lehn, James (Sue) Lehn, Elmer “Lanny” Lehn, Jeannie (Jim) Kramer, Jeanette Mock, Mary Lou (Wayne) Kolles, Linda (Ed) Hall, Ramona (Jerry) Martin, Sheila Lehn; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wallace in 2007, her son Mark in 2010, her brother-in-law Terry Anselment in 2005, and her brother Jerry Lehn in 2008.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30AM Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Church of the Annunciation in Hazelwood. Interment will be this Spring in Annunciation Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral.
