Lucy Alice Regeth Denison was born August 21, 1917, in Montana Township, Buffalo County, Wisconsin, to Andrew and Isabella (Gretezek) Regeth. She was raised on a farm near Alma and attended Oak Grove County School. She spent many years of her life as a care giver for elderly people, allowing them to stay in their homes. Lucy was well known for her baking skills and always enjoyed sharing her baked goods and bread with others. She enjoyed music, cooking, spending time with friends, and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Lucy “walked” through life and touched the lives of many people. She will be missed.
Survivors include her 7 children: Evelyn (Earl) Drentlaw, Dallas (Mary), Cynthia Tuma, all of Northfield, Karlyn (Jerry) Harshman of Colfax, Wisconsin, Keith of St. Paul, Janeil (Mike) Olson of Lake City, Randy (Valerie) of Northfield; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; her brother, Bernard Regeth of River Falls; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy, her twin sister Lucille Salwey, her brothers Reuben and Ralph Regeth, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and her parents.
Lucy passed away Friday morning, May 9, 2014, at the Care Center of the Northfield Retirement Community, at the age of 96.
Funeral services will be 10:30AM Monday, May 12, 2014, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Northfield. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield. Visitation will be at the church on Monday beginning at 9:30AM.
