Annette Donna Martin Peterson was born August 15, 1931, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Carl and Mary (Vogt) Martin and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1949, she graduated from Elmore High School, Elmore, Minnesota. She married Roy Peterson on September 3, 1950, in Blue Earth. Annette and Roy resided in Elmore, then farmed near East Chain, Minnesota, and in retirement moved to Canistota, South Dakota. For many years they enjoyed winters in Mission, Texas. Roy died in 2002. Annette spent the last seven years under the wonderful care of the staff of the Northfield (Minnesota) Retirement Community. She enjoyed family and friends, playing Scrabble, Cribbage and Bridge.
Survivors include her children: Bonnie of Camas, Washington, David of Phoenix, Diane (Daryl Goulson) of New Prague, Brian of Anchorage; five grandchildren: Meredith, Rebecca and Erica Goulson, and Grayling and Pike Peterson; her brother Ronald (Greta) Martin of Bristol, Wisconsin; her sister-in-law, Loretta Martin of Jefferson, Wisconsin; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her step-father Sam Clark, and her brother Kenneth Martin.
Annette died on Friday morning, March 14, 2014, at the Care Center of the Northfield Retirement Community, at the age of 82.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Chapel of the Northfield Retirement Community with Rev. John Quam officiating. A reception will follow. Visitation will be 4-7PM Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue at the NRC Chapel one hour prior to the service. A graveside service and interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth, March 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Robert Roettger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Northfield Retirement Community, and the East Chain Lutheran Church, rural Blue Earth, MN.
Arrangements are with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.

    I remember the Peterson’s visits to our farm during the summer with great fondness. Annette and Roy were some of my favorite Southern MN cousin/visitors. Blessed be the Memory of Annette for her family at this time.
