Phil was born on May 27, 1945, in Worthington, Minnesota, to Norman and Kay (Georgia Kathleen Danielson) Telander.  At age 4, his family moved to Northfield. He was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Northfield High School in 1963.  In 1965, he married Cheryl Weed.  They resided in Richfield and moved to Northfield in 1972. The couple had two daughters.  Phil and Cheryl later divorced. On June 6, 1976, Phil married Julia Daly in Sogn. They resided in Mazeppa until 1979 and then moved to Northfield.  Phil was employed at Sheldahl, Bridgeman’s, and the Bergquist Company, and in 1968, founded his own business, Telamco (Telander Laminating Company). The company operated in the basement of Village Drug/Bridgeman’s in Northfield, the former Stuart Hotel, and then in Dundas before relocating to Lonsdale in 1987. In 1994, the current building was constructed in Lonsdale. Phil was a longtime member and past chairman of the Lonsdale Chamber of Commerce and was involved in many community events.
Phil enjoyed reading, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, cooking, playing cards, and fishing.   He entertained many with his wit and sense of humor and openly shared his business insight with community and family.
Phil is survived by his wife, Julia; daughters Tracy (Michael) Humann of Northfield, and Christina Telander of Escondido, California; father, Norman (Norma) of Hackensack; sister, Barbara (Dann) Heilman of Red Wing; grandchildren, Micah (Angela) and Kamrey; ex-wife Cheryl; nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother.

Phil is certainly one of those guys your memory will never be able to shake, I mean this in the best way possible. My conversations with Phil were for the most part always filled with good cheer, even when he was troubled by something he always managed to put a good spin on things. That is a part of his character I will be reminded of when I think of him, something we can take from his life and try to model in our own. My God bless you hearts in this time with his memory, I will pray for you who are Close relatives,

  11. Dick Pedersen

I will truly miss Phil. I have known Phil for many years both in a business relationship an as a friend.
I very much enjoyed his honesty and his “dry” sense of humor.
Phil was a humble person, a hard worker, and always concerned for the other person, especially his employees and his customers.
    You will be missed Phil!!
My condolences go out to all the family
