Judy Ann Reinartz was born October 4, 1951, in Long Prairie, Minnesota, to Henry and Alice (Nordstrom) Loken. She was raised on the family farm at Browerville, attended country school and graduated from Browerville High School in 1969. Following her education she moved to the Twin Cities and worked at Control Data. She married Bill Reinartz on September 1, 1973, at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Paul. After marriage she worked for Medtronic until they moved to Hastings, Nebraska, in April 1974. While living in Hastings Judy worked for Family Planning. In June 1975, they moved to Northfield and Judy worked for Sheldahl. In April 1978, they moved to Kenyon and Judy spent several years working in the Kenyon Bank. In 1989, they returned to Northfield and purchased their home in Bridgewater Township. Judy returned to Sheldahl where she remained until 2006.
Judy was a member of the Church of St. Dominic. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and entertaining. Her family and grandchildren were the center of her life. She was very giving, selfless, and always there for those who needed her.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Bill; two daughters: Alissa and fiancee Dave Buda of Blaine, Andrea and husband Jon Kuhn of Farmington; 2 grandchildren, Brynley and Henry; 4 sisters: Carol Van Hoever of Browerville, Marlene (Dick) Aune of Clear Lake, Betty (Bruce) Sebek of Long Prairie, Sandy (Danny) Berger of Scandia; her brother Jerry (Lynn) Loken of Browerville; her lifelong friend, Marge Chyba of Clear Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son BJ in 2005, her parents, her brothers-in-law Arnold Van Hoever and Jim Hall, and her niece Laura Reinartz.
Following an extended battle with cancer, Judy passed away with her family by her side on Sunday morning, October 20, 2013, at her home in Bridgewater Township, at the age of 62.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield with Fr. Dennis Dempsey officiating. Music will be provided by Craig Wasner. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield. Urn Bearers will be Duane Van Hoever, Justin Sebek and Josh Berger. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Van Hoever, Dean Van Hoever, Lori Krienke, Marc Loken, Mike Loken, Steve Loken, Rodney Aune, Janet Aune, Amy Olson, Brianna Sebek, Jake Berger and Wade Berger. Visitation will be 4-7PM Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
