Christopher Charles McCain, age 71, of Lonsdale passed away on February 28, 2013, at home with his loving family surrounding him after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Chris enjoyed hunting and fishing, and sharing those loves with family and friends. He was very honest, generous with his time and talents, and quietly philanthropic. Chris was an avid outdoorsman, converting many farmland acres to native prairie and wetlands. He was a jokester and loved telling stories. Most of all, Chris was devoted to his family; his loving wife and children came first in his priorities.

Survivors include his wife, Roxann, children Tim (Maria) of Temecula, California, Katie (Bob) Kern of Plymouth, and Micaela of Lonsdale, grandchildren Elizabeth, Justin, Natalie, Stephanie, and Melanie; siblings Donovan II (Darlene) of St. Paul, Charles (Diane) of Minnetonka, James (Lela) of Dallas, Texas, John (Gini) of St. Paul, and Lucie of St. Paul; in-laws John and Vera Osborne of Cambridge; and many brother- and sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. His parents preceded him in death.
A celebration of Chris’ life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Northfield with Rev. Tim McDermott officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to PanCan.org or Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.

  1. Dear Roxann~ You choose a great photo of Chris! Jayne and I were commenting on this photo just last night! So happy and content, the sparkle in his eyes looking back at you, telling you I’m at peace and you will be my solo mate forever!
I hope this expresses the split feelings you are having now.

Thank you Cathy and this is a great picture. This is also the smile and twinkle he had on his face when he came to me in my dream. Oh, I love that guy.

Roxann: I just read that Chris passed away earlier this month. I know both of my daughters enjoyed him so much when they worked at County Market in high school. He was always kind, with a great sense of humor.

Please know that so many people in the community hold you and family in their thoughts right now.
