Elaine Rose Kubat Warner was born October 23, 1938, on the family farm near Owatonna, Minnesota, to Albert and Cora (Schwanke) Kubat. She was baptized and confirmed at Lytomysl Catholic Church, attended District 57 Country School and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1956. She married Albert Warner on August 31, 1957, at Lytomysl Catholic Church. After marriage they lived in Owatonna until 1968, when they moved to their home in Bridgewater Township and started Warner Tree Service. In 1976, they sold the tree service and Elaine began working in the King’s Room at St. Olaf College. She retired in 1993 as her health failed.
Elaine was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She enjoyed her family, friends, cooking, flowers, playing cards, cats, horses and participating in Saddle Club with her husband and kids.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Albert; 3 children: Kathleen and husband Rollo Hohrman of Castle Rock, Daniel of Cannon City and his special friend Suzy Palmquist of Northfield, David and wife Tammie of Northfield; 3 grandchildren: Alex, Shawn and Dylan; one great-grandson, Clay; her mother, Cora Kubat of Owatonna; two brothers, Alvin (Sharon) Kubat of Owatonna, Duane Kubat of Owatonna; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Dennis.
Following a brief illness, Elaine passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 11, 2012, at the Northfield Hospital, at the age of 74.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30AM Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield with Fr. Dennis Dempsey officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Owatonna. Visitation will be 4-7PM Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
